ANJEKA-6164A dispersion of large molecule organic color pigment

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

ANJEKA-6164A is a wetting and dispersing additive for solvent-borne automotive coatings, industrial coatings and pigment concentrates. It is particularly suitable for stabilizing very fine carbon blacks and organic pigments, especially in two-component polyurethane and baking systems, and significantly reduces the viscosity of abrasives.

STORAGE and TRANSPORT

Layering or turbidity may occur at temperatures below 0°C. Heat to 20°C and mix thoroughly.

Storage time is not recommended to exceed 12 months.

SPECIAL NOTES

The surface treatment of some organic pigments may adversely affect the effectiveness of this wetting and dispersing additive. In such cases, untreated pigments of the same type may be used. When used in coil coatings, the interaction between the cationic additive and the acid catalyst must be considered. Free or epoxy-encapsulated acids are preferable to amine-encapsulated acids.

The additive unflocates and stabilizes the pigment by spatial site resistance.ANJEKA-6164A provides the same charge to the pigment particles. The resulting repulsive and spatial stabilization prevents possible co-flocculation and prevents color float and bloom in multi-color systems. The result is an increase in gloss, color strength, transparency and hiding power, as well as a reduction in milling viscosity.

RECOMMENDED LEVELS

The amount of additives (in purchased form) is based on the pigment:

Titanium dioxide: 5%-6%

Inorganic pigments: 10%-15

Organic pigments: 30%-80

Carbon black: 70%-140

The above data are empirical and the optimum dosage should be determined through a series of tests.

INCORPORATION AND PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS

For optimum performance, add the additives to the abrasive before adding the pigments. Pre-mix the resin and solvent components of the abrasive and add the additives slowly with stirring. Do not add pigments until the additives are well mixed.
